Washington Wine Academy Education

Are you looking for serious wine education here in DC?

Washington Wine Academy is an authorized training center for WSET course. WSET stands for the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET®), the world's premier wine educational organization.

Washington Wine Academy students can earn official WSET credentials -starting with the Intermediate Certificate. WSET Advanced courses are taught throughout the year and we will be adding the WEST Diploma Certification - Level Four in September 2009.

All WSET course instructors hold the credentials of WSET Advanced or Diploma. WSET programs are the recommended preparatory study for Master of Wine candidates.

The Levels

The WSET classes are a progression, beginning with Intermediate Certificate, followed by Advanced Certificate, and Diploma. Each level covers the entire world of wine by geographical region— including viticulture, vinification, and appellation labeling laws— and also covers wine-tasting technique.

The Advanced Certificate is a suggested prerequisite for the Diploma Program
