The Washington Wine Academy (WWA) was founded in 1999 and is a 501c3 Virginia non-profit, dedicated to the promotion and furtherance of wine education.

The WWA is the premier wine school in the region, educating more than 1,000 wine enthusiasts a month and hosting more than 300 wine and beer events a year. Our founder has a passion for wine and recognized a growing need for wine education in our area. Over the last thirteen years, we have educated more than 150,000 people from the wine and hospitality industry to the casual consumer. Our instructors are extremely knowledgeable and teach to any skill level. Our classes include introduction to wine, a series focused on different wine producing regions, wine and food pairings, as well as three of the top certifications within the wine industry. In 2009, we were named one of the "Five Best Wine Schools" in the country by Food and Wine magazine.
