The wine industry can generate a lot of waste, and the Washington Wine Academy is dedicated to changing that standard.

We’re really proud to do our part, and so we:

• Recycle over 90% of all wine bottles we use for tastings, private/public events, wine certification courses, festivals, receptions and more
• Recycle over 90% of wine box cardboard, office paper and magazines
• Recycle water bottles, beer bottles (from our DC School of Beer) and soda cans
• Use recycled materials in our in-house printing
• Print most materials in house to save on fuel, shipping fuel and packaging materials
• Print materials, programs and publications two-sided to save paper
• Use glass plates vs. paper in our catering operations to save on paper waste
