Washington Wine Academy offers fun, single night classes on a variety of topics which have included grape varieties, wine regions, food and wine pairings, introduction to cheeses, basic beers, beer ingredients, the ABCs of wine and beer- oh the list goes on!

Classes usually range from one to three hours, and the environment relaxed, fun, and informative.

We are very excited to offer our courses in our Crystal City (Arlington), VA - Washington Wine Academy Education Center. Our new location is conveniently located just three blocks to the Pentagon City Metro, three blocks to the Crystal City Metro Station and with lots of free parking nearby.

Wines of the World Wine Classes (VA)

The world of wine is, well, huge and, at times, intimidating. But we’re here to change that! Join the Washington Wine Academy for tours of wine producing areas around the world! We are examining New Zealand, Australia, Chile, South Africa, Italy, Spain, Germany, and, much closer to home, Virginia.

Our teachers will take you through the history, major regions, and popular grapes of each as you taste two whites and two reds while refreshing your palate with Cabot Creamery cheese. Keep your souvenir glass as you walk away with your notes, knowledge, and a confidence to tackle wine lists everywhere.

Australia is a giant country, one diverse in climate, poisonous snakes, and most important (at least to us) wine. A country that has been making wine for over 300 years, fun and tasty South African wines are starting to invade the US market, and we couldn’t be more excited to talk about them.
